A poem by our friend Floyd Hawley - author of 3 Dozen Eggs

THE OLD FAIR OAKS DELI

A very friendly establishment, frequented by local inhabitants,

Frivolity and merriment, that’s the Old Fair Oaks Deli.

Linda bought the store, made it something more,

Her hearts an open door, at the Old Fair Oaks Deli.

The first to arrive is Chris, he has much to accomplish,

Organizing the Staamp Tish, in the Old Fair Oaks Deli.

Jim and Vicki are a pair, they do more than their share,

Brought two cakes while I was there, for the Old Fair Oaks Deli.

Laura makes an entrance, her life is somewhat intense,

Has fun, but she must make sense, of the Old Fair Oaks Deli.

Arriving is Big Doc, he can make your bones talk,

And when he is done, you can walk, to the Old Fair Oaks Deli.

Henny bought a boat, he hopes it stay afloat,

‘Til he’s far down the coast, away from the Old Fair Oaks Deli.

Stu and Sherry always walk, don’t have much time to talk,

‘Bout the folks around the block, from the Old Fair Oaks Deli.

Meghan usually comes down, she never wears a frown,

A tribute to the town, and the Old Fair Oaks Deli.

Art the stalwart of the crew, he listens more than you,

But what he says is true, at the old Fair Oaks Deli.

Occasionally we see Roy, his stories are a joy,

The world is his employ, but he likes the Old Fair Oaks Deli.

Floyd was just there for soup, was welcomed to the group,

Now he gets all the poop, at the Old Fair Oaks Deli.
